3D shafts & mechanical gears

Automate the design and construction of three-dimensional models of shafts, bushings and mechanical transmission elements in the KOMPAS-3D environment. This add-on enables fast construction of multistage shafts, including structural elements such as grooves, holes, splines and keyways.

3D Shafts and Mechanical Gears base application enables the design of the following types of mechanical gears and their components:

• External spur/helical gear pair
• Internal spur/helical gear pair
• James-type planetary gear set with single-ring planet gears
• Screw-type involute gear drive
• Spur/helical gear and rack drive
• Straight-bevel gear pair
• Cylindrical worm gear drive
• Chain drive with roller or bush chain
• V-belt drive
• Flat belt drive
• Rigid gear-type coupling

Users have access to geometric and design calculations, strength and durability (service life) calculations for gears, as well as optimization calculations.
