Pegas-Agro produces self-propelled machines for applying fertilizers and chemical plant protection. The Tuman line of machinery is used by both large agricultural holdings and small farms. These machines work in the wast fields of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Belarus, and Mongolia. Pegas-Agro engineers design their machines based on aviation standards with the help of ASCON software.

Challenge
Dusting fields with fertilizers from the air using delta-gliders and airplanes is known to be difficult and sometimes risky. To increase cost-efficiency and mitigate risks, it was decided to design a "ground" machine that would be comparable to aviation equipment in terms of speed and quality of processing or even surpass it.
Solution
Pegas-Agro creates a 3D model in KOMPAS-3D, then translates it into machine codes. Then they print the product on a 3D printer to check the assembly. As a result, the use of additive technologies helps to avoid the production of unreasonably expensive parts. For their manufacture, molds are not required, and a 3D printer copes with the task quite well.

Pegas-Agro has been successfully using KOMPAS-3D system in their work for several years. At the beginning, they compared various software options for design process automation, but ultimately chose the ASCON product.
Today, Pegas-Agro machines are almost entirely created in KOMPAS-3D. The product itself is designed in the CAD system and all documentation around it is stored in the electronic archive assuring seamless production.
Result / Business Value
The result of the latest developments was the Tuman line of machinery, which is not only load-bearing and light but also comfortable to operate. It has already received recognition in the industry as one of the most popular machines in its class. Pegas-Agro succeeded to create a very light and powerful machine, effectively managing the balance between its weight and performance.
