KOMPAS Collaboration with other Software Solutions

ASCON pays special attention for providing comfortable and fast data exchange with third-party CAD systems, used by a customer. KOMPAS V10 contains different converters for data exchange with third-party CAD systems, engineering calculations and analysis, part-program creation etc. Users of KOMPAS-3D get most of data translation functions for free. Reading and writing Parasolid data in KOMPAS V10 provides collaboration with SolidWorks, Unigraphics, and SolidEdge. ASCON, being the member of OpenDWG Alliance international association, uses a number of its products and technologies for high quality of DXF and DWG data translation. ASCON develops drafting assistants, designed for instrument-making industry customers. “Board 3D-model converter” allows reading of IDF standardized data exchange format in KOMPAS. 3D-converter operates IDF-files exported from P-CAD systems versions 2000..2002, OrCAD 9.X and Protel. “Engineering text document converter” is developed for translating BOM, created with P-CAD and OrCAD systems into KOMPAS format. In case of need received documents can be elaborated with KOMPAS. The converter operates BOM-files created with P-CAD systems versions 2000..2002, OrCAD 9.X and Protel. Also PDIF (P-CAD) support library is proposed for instrument making industry.
